Layaway Days: Art collecting on a Budget
Matthew Grabelsky is a Los Angeles-based artist, whose work blends reality and fantasy. Grabelsky takes the mundane task of riding the subway and supplants an animal head onto the human subjects, creating a dramatic juxtaposition. The animal heads are representations of the internal, primal instincts, that manifest within us.
Matthew has several signed, open-edition prints available for purchase in his Etsy store. The prints come matted and measure 12” x 16”. The cost is a reasonable $35 a piece, however, collectors are only charged shipping on the first print. Whether you purchase 1 or 100, there is a flat shipping rate.
Grabelsky’s prints are light-hearted, but have enough depth to allow for thoughtful discourse.

Art isn't purchased at big-box stores. This blog is for collectors like me, who collect on a budget.
