Layaway Days: Art collecting on a Budget
Karen Jerzyk is an American photographer, whose works blur the lines of visual and performance art. Much of her work is shot at abandoned locations, where Jerzyk recreates exaggerated settings from the past. According to Jerzyk, "I strive to produce photos that tell a story- that connect with the viewer on a personal level. I like to find locations that were abandoned before any sort of technological age, typically locations with relics left in them from 1980 and earlier (the older, the better). '
Her works are often macabre, yet humorous; sexy, yet scary. Her photos exist in fantasy and reality.
You can visit her website, where there are plenty of options to obtain a piece for your home. Prints range from $30 for an 8"x12" metallic paper print to $1000 for a 30"x45" metal print.
Her prints can be purchased here:
Art isn't purchased at big-box stores. This blog is for collectors like me, who collect on a budget.
