Layaway Days: Art collecting on a Budget
I love those chickens! Artist and gallerist Tim Rees, just posted a few paintings for sale. All paintings measure 5" x 7" or 6" x 6" and are available for $300 each. Send Tim a DM via Instagram to purchase (@reesfineart).
BASK (Because Art Should Kill), most notably known for his prints featuring the Morton Salt girl, is releasing another monumental print. 'American Horror Story' depicts Donald Trump, one of the most polarizing political figures, in American history and is available through Cass Contemporary. I like the idea, but I don't know how many people are going to want to see that troglodyte, any more than is necessary. The print has great shock value and extremely relevant. Prints can be purchased HERE.
Street art aficionado's take note, Martin Whatson is back with his next print release. 'Tiger' is available via Graffiti Prints on Thursday November 23rd at 3pm (assuming 7am PST). Three versions are available including: a standard edition, a hand-finished edition, and a hand-finished brass edition. Details below. Prints can be purchased HERE.
Sage Vaughn is releasing his next print via 1xRUN. The last time he hooked up with 1xRUN, was for a Rude Jude project. Once again, his release coincides with a new Rude Jude book release. Two editions are available: a standard edition of 150 and a hand-embellished edition of 25. Prints measure 24" x 24" and cost $200/$500 respectively. Prints go on sale around 9am PST on Friday.
My latest purchase is a small oil painting by Nate Ross, that was featured in Studio Gallery's 'Tiny' exhibition. Every year, Studio Gallery puts on an amazing small works show and after meeting Nate and his wife Lindsey (Kustusch), I knew I needed to add a piece to the collection. The piece measures 6" x 6" and cost $320 shipped. There are still several affordable and appealing works available for purchase. Click HERE to view the exhibition.
On Friday November 24th, Aron Wiesenfeld will be releasing an etching of 'The Bridge'. The print will go on sale at 10am PST and will be released in his Big Cartel store. The print measures 15" x 17", comes in an edition of 35, and costs $245. Free shipping is included in Canada and the USA.
Handiedan is having a 25% off sale, until Sunday November 26th. She has a few prints and postcards available HERE.
Jeremy Lipking and Dark Creek Press have released a portfolio of Lipking's outdoor figurative paintings. Twelve, 4" x 6" reproductions are encompassed within the portfolio. This is a great way to own something from the celebrated fine artist.
J. Louis is coming off a successful show at Shain Gallery. He describes himself as a 'dynamic impressionist' whose "...greatest hope for my work is to reveal a deeper passion and appreciation for life and to connect viewers with the kinetic energy of my art." Here are the remaining pieces, available from his solo exhibition. I've put prices on the more affordable pieces. Click HERE to be directed to Shain Gallery.
Charcoal 4 & 5 - $1500.
