For those voracious readers out there, I recommend checking out Danny Danziger's "Museum: Behind The Scenes At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art". The book consists of short passages provided to the author, by employees of the Met. From the director, to curators, to security guards, employees give their account of how they began working at the historic institution. The biggest surprise was how many of the employees did not have a background or interest in art, prior to working at the museum. The overall narrative of the book provides a pretty decent and varied overview of the art contained within the Met's walls. Danziger is able to condense two million square feet, into 265 pages.
A solid 4/5.
