Layaway Days: Art collecting on a Budget
I wanted to do a quick post on Daliah Ammar, as I noticed she was selling a few inexpensive originals. A few of her pieces showed up on Instagram Stories, so if you are interested in purchasing from her, it's probably not a bad time to make contact. It's been a few years since I first learned about Daliah's paintings and have enjoyed seeing her progression as an artist. I think her 'Wastelands' series, which depicts two individuals, one in black, barely visible to the viewer, is some of her best work. In addition to painting, she has created 'Wunderkind' magazine, as a way to showcase young artists <25 years of age. The name 'Wunderkind' is fearless and shows confidence, which reminds me of when the Irish band 'Garbage' entered the music scene, in the mid-1990's. You can't name a band 'Garbage' and have the music be complete shit, much like 'Wunderkind'; you can't name a magazine 'Wunderkind' if you're showcasing anything less than extremely talented young artists. I haven't scene the magazine but my interest is piqued.
Art isn't purchased at big-box stores. This blog is for collectors like me, who collect on a budget.
